聖徳太子の地球儀
聖徳太子の地球儀（しょうとくたいしのちきゅうぎ）は、兵庫県太子町の斑鳩寺に伝わるソフトボール大の地球儀のこと。表面には南北アメリカ大陸や、ユーラシア大陸などがレリーフのように描かれている。また、1800年代に発見された南極大陸に相当する大陸や、ムー大陸に相当する部分にも大陸が描かれている。西暦607年に聖徳太子によって建立されたと伝わる斑鳩寺には、聖徳太子ゆかりとされる宝物が所蔵されており、江戸時代に目録『常什物帳』が作成された。その中の「地中石」と記載されているのがこの地球儀であるといわれ、少なくともその頃から存在していたと考えられている。
